Yabu Civic Exchange Square YB Fab.

Yabu Civic Exchange Plaza YB Fab is a major project for Yabu City. It has become the city's symbol since merging the four towns in 2004. The new construction project is expected to become a future centre of culture and the arts, as well as a centre of liveliness and town development. The project is located in the centre of the 2.5-ha site of the former Gunze Youka factory, surrounded by rivers and mountains. The project consists of two buildings, a big hall, and a library with side entrances from the neat allays. The hall attracts the attention of musicians outside the city for its acoustic performance, especially for live sounds.

Hankyu CM participated in the project from the primary design stage and was in charge of the CM work until the building was completed and put into operation. The first public construction project in the Kansai region to adopt the ECI method, we worked with the designers and constructors to realize a high level of quality within the target budget and date. In addition, we took the lead in designing a facility that would help reduce maintenance and management costs in the face of a declining city population. We planned various events from the design stage to the museum’s opening so that the citizens could be involved in the facility's planning and operation and fully use it. We helped build consensus with the citizens. The project also created a comprehensive system that will lead to a lively atmosphere after the museum's opening.
